"Après maintes journées à chevaucher entre Montivilliers et les collines alentour, je fis halte en ce lieu que l’on nomme Le JB, situé sur la Sainte-Croix, afin de me restaurer et reprendre des forces pour poursuivre mes aventures au service de Sa Majesté. Mon cheval, épuisé par la route et le vent salé des côtes normandes, reçut un peu de repos à l’écurie du village, tandis que je pénétrai dans la salle rustique et accueillante de l’établissement. Je commandai des patates douces, mets dont j’avais ouï dire mais que je n’avais guère goûté au royaume. À la première bouchée, je me pris à méditer sur l’origine de ces racines, me demandant si elles venaient d’Andalousie, ou de quelque lointaine contrée par-delà la mer, comme les épices que l’on apporte des ports de Marseille ou de Bruges. Leur chair orangée, douce et tendre, évoquait les récoltes abondantes des champs normands, et leur goût, riche et délicat, me fit presque exhaler un juron de surprise. Chaque morceau était comme une découverte de terres inconnues : la texture fondante rappelait le travail patient des paysans dans leurs sillons, tandis que le parfum, légèrement sucré, éveillait des souvenirs de festins dans les halles de Rouen et d’Honfleur. Je me pris à comparer ces saveurs avec celles des tubercules plus rustiques et connues du royaume, trouvant en ces patates douces une noblesse de goût insoupçonnée. Tout au long du repas, je m’interrogeai sur la provenance de ces racines exotiques et sur les routes par lesquelles elles avaient voyagé pour parvenir jusque dans mon assiette. Le service attentif, les arômes des herbes et le confort de la salle firent de ce repas un moment digne d’un chevalier en quête de force et de sagesse. Je quittai le lieu revigoré, émerveillé par ce mets qui semblait porter en lui la promesse de contrées lointaines et de festins futurs."

"Je tiens à vous remercier de l'accueil chaleureux, tout au long de ces 3 mois de déplacement professionnel dans cette région. En effet la qualité du service et des menus sont parfait, le restaurant très propre de plus dispose d'une terrasse très bien exposée. Niveau entrée, plat, désert, que des produits frais, cuisiné sur place très raffinés, goûteux et variés, tout en pratiquant des tarifs très corrects. Félicitations à toute l'équipe."
